Robert Downey, Jr. Likes To Google Himself, Brad Pitt Does Not

During Oscar season, Newsweek holds an annual Oscar Roundtable, which consists of six celebrities getting together, talking about their personal lives, and performances from the past year.  The panel this year was far from disappointing and included Brad Pitt, Robert Downey Jr., Anne Hathaway, Frank Langella, Sally Hawkins, and hatchetface Mickey Rourke.

And in typical fashion the most cliche question about if it’s hard separating their private lives from their public lives, whether they “Google” themselves or not.  Pitt replied:

“Dear God. No. Never. First of all, I don’t really know how to operate a computer.” But he does add, “Oh yeah, I have a BlackBerry.”

Hathaway then said she didn’t, but RDJ being the most amazing bastard he is was the most honest:

“Oh, I love all that shit, personally. Sorry. I love just it. Because it’s a hoot. Some people overstate their support, like they know you. Other people are busy doing something else and just want to go on this chat site and say some despicable character assassination, which I honestly think they kind of nailed it. I do have that shortcoming. It’s really fun.”

Then Anne retracted her statement earlier and admitted:

“OK, I have a confession. I lied before when you asked if I Googled myself. I do. I embarrassed by it because I know how terrible it is.”

Oh fuck ‘em all.  Of course you google yourself! I’m so far from famous it’s ridiculous and yet every now and then I google myself.  Of course only LinkedIn, Facebook, and a few cheesy articles I wrote show up, but still. I doubt Rourke googles himself.  That shit is scary to view in the mirror each morning and I doubt he’d want to relive that experience on a daily basis.  Then again, maybe he googles his pictures of yesteryears.
